New Hotel Brands Debuting in Australia and New Zealand in 2025

In recent years, Australia and New Zealand’s hotel market have experienced significant growth, adding many new accommodation options for travellers. In 2024, the Australian hotel market welcomed 3,000 new rooms while New Zealand’s supply increased to 6.9% above pre-pandemic levels.

Over the next two years, 7,700 new hotel rooms will open across Australia, providing travellers with even more options. New Zealand is also set to experience an increase in room supply in the coming years, with Auckland alone projected to see an 11% growth over the next five years. In 2025, several exciting hotel brands will be making their debut, introducing some highly anticipated accommodation experiences across Australia and New Zealand.

25hours Hotel The Olympia, Sydney (Accor)

For travellers seeking a stay between Sydney’s CBD and the affluent Eastern suburbs, 25hours Hotel The Olympia in Paddington promises a luxurious and unique experience.

Set to open in June 2025, this 109-room property marks the brand’s highly anticipated debut in Australia. The boutique hotel will be located in the transformed heritage West Olympic Theatre, in the heart of the Oxford Street Village Centre.

25hours Hotel The Olympia will feature a variety of dining options, including a rooftop restaurant and bar with stunning views of Sydney. Other highlights include state-of-the-art conference and event spaces, a large central courtyard for live music and events, and two ground-floor retail spaces, one of which will focus on wellness.

TRIBE Auckland (Accor)

TRIBE, Accor’s design-led midscale brand, will open its first hotel in New Zealand in April 2025. Located on Fort Street in Auckland’s CBD, the hotel is conveniently near the Britomart area and the Commercial Bay precinct.

TRIBE Auckland will feature vibrant, bold interiors designed for traveller comfort and connectivity. The hotel will offer 60 compact but comfortable rooms, along with a lobby bar and a social hub for guests.

Hannah St Hotel, Melbourne (TFE)

Travellers heading to Melbourne will soon be able to experience a stylish new boutique hotel when the 188-room Hannah St Hotel opens its doors in September 2025.

Conveniently located in Southbank, just a short distance from Melbourne’s CBD, the Yarra River, South Melbourne, and the Arts Precinct, the hotel will be part of the Queensbridge Building precinct, which includes a 62-level residential tower currently under construction. Guests at Hannah St Hotel will have access to facilities within the Queensbridge Building, including a gym, lap pool, and co-working spaces.

The hotel’s design aims to provide an “authentic Melbourne experience,” featuring interiors incorporating brass, steel, and stone, reflecting Southbank’s industrial heritage. Additionally, visitors can enjoy dining and socialising at the hotel’s bar, restaurant, and rooftop bar/events space.

The Eve Hotel, Sydney (TFE)

In February 2025, TFE Hotels will welcome guests to the highly anticipated The Eve Hotel. Nestled in the heart of Surry Hills, an inner-city district known for its upscale dining and shopping, this 102-room hotel offers guests a unique blend of elegance, artistry, and relaxation.

One of its standout features is the rooftop, which boasts a 20-meter pool, a garden, and the restaurant Lottie, providing a lush oasis and stunning panoramic views of Surry Hills and Redfern.

The hotel is also situated within the Wunderlich Lane lifestyle precinct, giving guests quick access to a variety of boutique retail, wellness, and dining options.

Mondrian Gold Coast (Accor)

The luxury hotel brand Mondrian is set to debut in Australia with its first property opening on the Gold Coast in early 2025. Situated in the heart of Burleigh Heads, the hotel will offer guests stunning views of both the ocean and the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Inspired by the natural beauty of Burleigh’s coastline, the Mondrian Gold Coast will feature 208 modern and inviting accommodations, including rooms, suites, beach houses, and a Sky House.

Guests can enjoy two on-site restaurants, Lito and Haven, which will serve coastal Italian cuisine and local seafood. Additionally, the hotel will include an upscale wellness space, a pool club, and a versatile events area capable of hosting both small and large gatherings.

Hyde Perth (Accor & Ennismore)

Hyde Hotels will open its first Australian property in Perth in 2025. Located on Pier Street in the heart of the CBD, the design of the hotel will be inspired by the colours of Western Australia’s landscapes, fostering a sense of connection through its interiors.

Hyde Perth will feature 120 bohemian-chic guest rooms, including 18 spacious suites. The hotel will also offer two dedicated meeting and event spaces, a destination restaurant, and a vibrant bar that opens onto an outdoor pool area.

True to the brand’s celebrated ‘festival’ vibe, the hotel’s entertainment spaces will host a curated program of music and live performances.

 

Greater choice for travellers

With these hotel brands making their debut across Australia and New Zealand, travellers can look forward to more choice when it comes to accommodation. These brand’s entry into the market and the unique experiences they offer may also inspire other hoteliers to innovate and enhance their services to meet traveller preferences and remain competitive.
