With over 11,000 travellers across more than 20 countries, the client was seeking greater visibility over their total travel spend, giving them insight they could leverage to drive better outcomes. They needed a TMC that could not only meet this transparency need but also deliver innovative technology solutions to support their growing traveller base. CTM was selected for our ability to provide global reporting insights and local expertise tailored to the needs of stakeholders in every market. The client engaged CTM to lead a global travel program consolidation, aimed at delivering savings across the entire program, reviewing policy drivers, and establishing consistent, global reporting.

Solutions

To achieve global program consolidation, CTM conducted a comprehensive review of the client’s travel program across all regions. This allowed us to quickly identify opportunities for spend optimisation, policy refinement, and the implementation of integrated technology solutions, all built into a strategic Business Plan with measurable outcomes.

CTM’s strategic Business Plan outlined multiple cost-saving initiatives, tracked and reported monthly, including a managed global hotel RFP.

By gaining a deep understanding of the client’s program needs and expectations, CTM was able to recommend key travel policy enhancements, including the introduction of a pre-trip approval process and internal hierarchy adjustments to improve compliance and control.

We also completed a full implementation of our global Lightning Online Booking Tool (OBT), alongside CTM’s complete product suite, providing a fully integrated, one-stop solution to support every aspect of the client’s travel program, including meetings and events.

CTM’s global reporting suite was implemented to provide the client with consistent, in-depth visibility across all markets. This also included CO2 tracking to support the client’s sustainability goals.

Outcome

CTM’s strategic program consolidation delivered over AUD $2.8 million in savings across two years.  These outcomes were achieved through a combination of increased online booking adoption, the implementation of approval workflows, successful meetings and events negotiations, a global hotel RFP (which alone delivered more than AUD $400,000 in savings in a single year), air travel savings, and the effective use of waivers and favours.

By leveraging data-driven reporting, optimising travel policies, and delivering integrated technology solutions, the program not only reduced costs but also improved operational efficiency and policy compliance and empowered the client with greater visibility and control across all regions.
