Introducing CTM’s Innovate RAP
Connect. Deliver. Evolve. CTM recognises the unique diversity, culture, and community that Indigenous engagement and stakeholders bring to our organisation. Our company values support a culture of inclusion and growth, and underpin our commitment to make a meaningful, positive impact towards advancing reconciliation.
We are proud to announce the launch of CTM’s “Innovate” Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), and a new partnership with specialist Indigenous consulting arm, John Briggs Consultancy.
As formulated by CTM’s RAP Working Group, the 2024-2026 strategy will see a range of new initiatives such as building pathways to employment in the travel industry for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander supplier diversity to support improved economic and social outcomes.
Supporting the initiatives laid out in RAP, John Briggs Consultancy will support CTM’s leadership team and hiring staff with cultural awareness training, professional development forums and workshop facilitation, providing a safe environment for colleagues to learn together and strengthen CTM’s inclusion and diversity of First Nations peoples and businesses.
In 2025, CTM will continue our Indigenous partnerships across the country, including:
- NRL Cowboys House – a culturally safe boarding facility that provides supported accommodation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from remote communities.
- Curtin University Moorditj Yorga Scholarship Program – designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to fulfil their higher education journey with Curtain University, and
- Yalari – a not-for-profit organisation that works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from regional and remote communities
As part of CTM’s Innovate RAP, CTM has committed to furthering the opportunities for students associated with the above organisations by building pathways to employment in the travel industry for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
CTM commissioned our official RAP artwork from Yalari alumni, Lori Clevens, a proud Wakka Wakka woman from Cherbourg in the South Burnett area of Queensland.
Lori’s artwork, “The Travellers” represents cultures coming together after traveling and connecting with each other through yarning circles around open fires, meeting places, walking on country and ceremonial corroborees under the open sky.
Endorsing CTM’s first Innovate RAP, Reconciliation Australia CEO, Karen Mundine, stated “Implementing an Innovate RAP signals CTM’s readiness to develop and strengthen relationships, engage staff and stakeholders in reconciliation, and pilot innovative strategies to ensure effective outcomes.”
CTM’s Global Head Office is proudly located on Yuggera Country in the Brisbane CBD, with our Australian office footprint being the largest worldwide.
CTM acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their continued connections to land, sea and community.
We pay our respect to their Elders past, and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
